This past month, I had the opportunity to test out a complimentary one month trial of Rent The Runway Unlimited thanks to my friend Katie - be sure to give her a follow on Instagram @katiemilam and check out her blog here! I had first heard of Rent the Runway back in high school, when I was looking for a very specific dress for prom and a friend had mentioned looking into their services. Now, years later I was approached asking if I would like to try out a free month unlimited membership and in return write a blog post. Of course, my first thought was "Well, I don't need a month of rental formal gowns" but, I was quickly corrected and found out RTR offers SOOOO much more! If you're looking for a new designer bag, cute sweater or want to switch up your work attire this membership would be a great option for you!
So, what is Rent the Runway? and what do they offer?
Rent the Runway offers two membership levels, RTR Update and RTR Unlimited. Let's take a look at what each offers! RTR Update is a fun way to "refresh your wardrobe each month". For just $89, this service allows you to rent 4 items for the month with 1 swap. RTR Unlimited allows you to "wear new outfits all the time". For $159 a month, you will receive 4 items on constant rotation, giving you access to unlimited swaps and unlimited rents for the month!
Rent the Runway Unlimited is a convenient and fun way to switch up your wardrobe without breaking the bank! Simply, create your account online and start adding pieces to your wish list. You can then select four items you love and they will be shipped directly to you! I was amazed at how fast they processed my order! After, selecting my items and placing my order, I received a shipment notification not too long after and my items the very next day!

For my first order, I selected a fun fur vest, a Tory Burch handbag, a Kaufmanfranco leather jacket and a Rebecca Minkoff sweater!
This fun Foxy Lady Faux Fur Vest by BB Dakota is the perfect way to accessorize any casual outfit. Pair it with jeans, leather leggings or even a dress for a fun and trendy look. This faux fur vest retails at $108.
Now, this Tory Burch Blue Robinson Shoulder Bag I had so much fun with! The floral print and robins egg blue color were so fun to mix and match with prints and colors! Here I used my mustard sweater to draw attention to the small tan and yellow accents in this floral print! This purse is so cute for spring, summer and paired with the right look it could be worn year round! This shoulder bag retails at $398.
This Kaufmanfranco Knit Leather Jacket was cute, but I was a bit disappointed. Looking at the retail price of this jacket, I was expecting much more. The fit of this jacket was a little funky. The cropped cut made me look wide and the 3/4 sleeves looked very awkward. This leather jacket retails at $2,995... yes, you did read that right.
This Rebecca Minkoff Ella Sweater was one of my very favorite items I rented! This sweater was so cute. The mock neck and warm colored stripes made this sweater perfect for cold weather! My only complaint about this piece, was that it was so itchy i wore a thin mock neck underneath. This sweater retails at $228.
Once you've worn your items and decided to exchange for new ones, simply pack them back up in the garment bag they were sent in. Then slip the paid return postage in the clear sleeve located on the front of the bag. I chose to return my items in two's that way I could get more use out of my Unlimited membership. Once RTR has received the return items, they will send you an email letting you know you can select new items for renting!
What I loved about Rent The Runway?
This service allowed me to constantly change up my wardrobe while looking like a million bucks all without breaking the bank.
They offer an endless selection of styles! Everything from cozy joggers to ball gowns! This becomes really important when you may be 3 - 4 months into renting and want to keep switching up your styles!
All my shopping and outfit planning can be done on my computer or using the RTR app on my phone at ANY time and really ANY where! No running to stores!
All the clothes are high quality and designer brands.
You can buy designer brands for a fraction of the cost! If you fall in love with one of your picks, just go ahead, log on and purchase that piece for a major discount!
Laundry? Heck, no. RTR dry cleans all items before and after your use. So, my laundry was cut in half!
And now it wouldn't be my whole and honest review if I didn't tell you the small inconveniences I did notice while using this service.
There were a few items I had picked and unfortunately, since you aren't able to try them on beforehand, they either didn't fit or didn't fit how I expected them to. In these cases, I immediately packed them up to ship right back, that way I could exchange as soon as possible.
If you have a UPS nearby then you won't have this issue, but personally I felt I was driving out of the way or making special trips to find a drop box, making this a small inconvenience for myself.
In conclusion, I would recommend this service to business women looking to change up their closet or fashionista's looking for name brands and trendy styles. I will not be continuing my membership after this trial, because I felt that personally I was not able to get the full use of the service for the cost, but I hope you give it a shot and see if this is something that works for your everyday life! This Get it Girl Tunic Sweater by Somedays Lovin was so cute for Valentines day! I loved the chevron print and oversized fit. This could have easily been paired with leggings for a more casual and comfy look! This sweater retails at $119.
This Kate Spade NY, Pebble Cedar Street Hayden Handbag was a WINNER and my absolute favorite item I rented! I used this handbag every. single. day. for three weeks! The colors of this bag are perfect for every single season and the size was great for fitting my every necessity. To be honest, I kinda regret not buying! This handbag retails at $365.
